Adelaide: Now a Target for Cocaine

Posted on: December 13, 2009

At $400 a gramme for hits, the 250 Kg cargo found in a cargo of tea from China is a staggering amount. How long must legislation be delayed to cut the free health from drug users to a user pays system? and to waive those costs in exchange for the dealer? More than double the existing penalties at this point and plea bargain part of it to get the next one up the ladder and no bail. Get the dealers of all drugs. A warehouse of the stuff has no value if it cannot be sold. The judiciary is reminded that it took 5 years, to sentence a drug dealer in SA following a sting that risked the life of a policewoman.

If current legislators have no idea of their responsibility to community values while hiding behind the skirts of party politics then the judiciary should remind them that those values are the basis of our laws.Quoting Lord Goldsmith, the U.K. Attorney General in 2006, “However, we must be mindful that rule by law is unethical, very often unjust, and not so much an intrusion into those values by legislation but by the very failure of the legal system and all organs of the State to respect them”..

Our legislators are on 3 months holiday on full pay.
