New Jails for Monarto Scrapped

Posted on: November 14, 2009

The Government scrapped the jails for Monarto and then paid out $10 million to the 4 “preferred” developers as “conscience” payments that are not disclosed. That alone would be one for the ICAC but there is another dimension – that it should be necessary to build 4 more jails in the first place. The Government seeks greater measures to deal with crime after it is committed rather than prevention – a much cheaper alternative It is a serious indictment of this Government failure to teach community values and rule of law to children before a teen mindset. A classic example of people being elected into positions of power who have no vision or if they do, it is suppressed by the Party to address its own interests first. Neither the morality of life experience or the talent to exercise it is allowed to interfere with Party interests.
