Community Values and Super Schools

Posted on: November 6, 2009

What is the connection? Community values being taught to school children have been ignored in favour of a teachers union philosophy which serves only the union and a political party seving only the party and it is not confined to the present administration.

There is a continuous stream of harrowing experiences with youth, the causes are not addressed by either the bickering teachers union or the Education Minister. One with issues of pay and tenure and the other with the unaffordable grandiosities of super schools…. and the children are forgotten. How can teachers deny the part they play in bringing up children to be acceptable to the commuity in which they live? The root causes of social trauma is erosion of community values from the very top to the bottom and this needs to be fixed first by introducing those values in the primary years of the education system. That is , if the Minster and her ruling junta can remember what they are.

Community values are in the toilet.

Unions demand fees and compliance.

Children end up in the bottom of the big money pit, teachers go on strike demanding better pay or conditions (for teachers, not the kids).

Respect goes out the window (nobody worthy) the children turn into little monsters, detention is used as punishment, emotional mind games employed to bribe the kids into some sense of order, kids revolt, join gangs, beat up peers….and graduate to a career in crime, with a high distinction as a social drop-out.

Yeah Bob, I seriously think we have a big problem.
