Restore Community Values in SA

Posted on: October 4, 2009

Start community values as a major subject in the primary years of the education system or we will need more jails , more police, and more juvenile detention facilities.. The four new jails have been scrapped. That they need to be planned at all is a severe indictment of a brain dead administration intent on its own survival from one election to the next. There are 231 incidents over the past 3 months, from a 10 year old boy threatening a bus driver with a knife to a gang of  hoons assaulting a man in broad daylight in the CBD. The interaction of youth makes harrowing reading.  Firstly, change the medical consequences of booze and drugs from the free health system to a user pays system. In the case of drugs waive these charges in exchange for the dealer who is locked up – no bail. Hit the boozers with the bill for consequential damage and death by removing the cause from insurance cover allowing the victims to sue.
