A Point of Integrity for South Australia

Posted on: August 21, 2009

To the Advertiser
Dear Sir,

How unfortunate and sad that the Leader of the Opposition  used the me-too-ism philosophy, the so called level playing field, to match the lower morality of the Government to raise funds. It is bad enough that the Government sought to favour the expressions of interest for the hospital project at a personal and exclusive dinner provided by them. None of the transparency mechanisms are working for integrity or accountability. and although the call for an ICAC is high on the Opposition agenda it has no substance when the “level playing field” is the basis for. indulging in the same. The NationalsSA and the other smaller parties are gaining strength, driven by the perception that the Opposition is no different from the Government. We could have advanced the State enormously if  politicians were not only honest and told the truth but were also prepared to face the truth.
The perception, indeed, is more powerful than the facts.
Yours truly,
