The Parole Board….Again!

Posted on: August 8, 2009

Politicians should confine their views to legislation that has its basis in community values, The Rightness of Things. The Parole Board should be scrapped. It has impinged upon the sentencing of the Courts to the extent that it interferes with the determination of the sentence. If the sentence is appropriate in the first instance, then why, exactly, hand down a lesser one? Is it for only the possibility of good behaviour while in prison?…and if so, just what  constitutes good behaviour? A great many re-offend – is that too many?
